Yes, and Michigan just means "big lake" in one of the Indian languages from somewhere vaguely over there (mainly in Canada in fact).The real geographical travesty is naming the state of Wyoming after the area around Scranton, Pennsylvania. Some tedious poem seems to be to blame, but I suppose as nobody lives there, nobody cares. |
