Maybe our society has just grown too week to want to be on its own side, maybe the cry of "racist" is a more horrible notion to the majority of American folk than is the crying of a mother over her son who was killed by a terrorist bombing.Maybe, indeed, the "Great Experiment" has failed. Maybe only the non-western civilizations are able to see beyond following certain moral tennets that are at the basis of their civilization, maybe only they are "allowed" to realize that survival is more important to their people than being "fair" in EVERY circumstance. I can't figure it out. What needs to happen? Do American males need to see American females be denigrated, abused, killed en masse before they start to modify their stance? Do homosexuals need to see themselves being tortured and murdered by the hundreds of thousands before they begin to feel defensive? Do dozens of cities need to be massively bombed, deaths in the millions before the citizens of this country feel that living is better than dying. What? What will it take? Are we even worth fighting for any more? |
