Personally, I think the guy was just drunk. What's clear now is that the narrative that the mosque debate is driving anti-Islamism to overt acts of violence is now dead. We saw a lot of people on this board who jumped on that bandwaggon, and they now have to consider walking their claims back. Lefty blogs are currently starting to do it, as is the Village Voice, grudgingly. |
