But responding in the guise of being morally superior or whatever it is just doesn't impress these terroists.I agree in general. The moral high ground should be done from a position of Victory. That is the bad guys must be destroyed. However there are certain core American values that should never be sacrificed. That's not merely the "moral high ground". That's the essence of America. People say they attacked us because of our freedoms. So are we going to hand them victory by forfeiting those freedoms? A distinction must be made between the bad guys (who need to be pulverized) and ordinary people. We didn't throw away our freedoms when SOME Italians, Russians and Jews were violent anarchists setting off bombs all over the place 80-100 years ago. |
