But these 19 people did not do this in isolation. They had massive support and resources from Islamic governments as well as many members of the Islamic religious leadership. How many mullahs in Iran and Afghanistan either support or express understanding of this action? A lot more than 19 fanatics are involved here.Al Quaida itself could not even exist if it did not receive funding and support from official sources. So if 19 people did this in isolation we blame only the individuals involved. But the attack on the WTC was not an isolated incident - it involved a conspiracy amongst Moslem governments and religious leaders to enable it to happen. Do we hate all moslems? No. Do we distrust the motives of their leadership? Yes. |
