I think you totally feel the same way about this as I do. If you drink beer with a meal, "Bud" always works. Some "tastier" or heavier beers don't.
Many of these countries that SMAZ is talking about often culturally have more wine drinkers drinking with their meals, and drink beer at different situations. I also drink different beer other than bud when I am just "having a beer". THEN I feel like something with more taste.

Also, I don't usually drink when I do things around the house, but every so often when I feel like a beer or something when I am cutting the grass or something, I much rather feel like someting light like Bud than something heavier.

Again, neither is right or wrong, it's all personal preference. To say that 'Americans drink shit beer because that is what we were spoon fed after commercialization" is absurd. I can walk into most bars or most beer stores and buy WHATEVER beer I want to, and we have been able to for many decades. Many people will grab the "Budweiser" instead of the foreign, or heavier American beers. They HAVE that choice.
