GOOD!! Texas and the Southern Mooch States can finally secede!TX and FL receive back roughly what their residents pay into the US treasury; NY, NJ, and CT subsidize mooch states very heavily. NM, MS, AK, LA, and WV are the five biggest mooches. Generally it's a very socialist arrangement: about 18 states earn less than they pay in, while the others 32 rely on taxpayers in those 18 for their subsidies. No doubt this correlates with distribution of income and the progressive nature of the tax code. |
