You're near the same vintage as me ... that wine was AWFUL. ADNY bought all of it for all the parishes from this winery in Milton (just south of Highland in Ulster county where the POK Bridge lands on the other side) which finally shut down and was sold to another vineyard named KEDEM. Now they peddle those awful grapes as Kosher. :)I always got kick out of knowing my priests when it was pour time, and also being aware of the time. I'm sure you remember the "finger signals" over the chalice when you poured from each vessel. Some priests doing 0-dark-hundred services would wiggle you off quick on the wine and let you fill with water ... by their third mass or so hitting near noon, those fingers would be waving furiously until it was full and then wved off the water. Heh. You know whut I meen. :) |
