If you seriously want the government out of healthcare, then you need to pay income taxes on your healthcare benefit as you would for any other benefit provided by your employer. In turn, you'd have to eliminate Medicaid and Medicare, and I've question the ability of most Americans to pay for full cost of their elderly family member's healthcare. Arguably, the implicit problem is the effect on the economy on a macro and micro scale when somebody ends up in an ER with a heart attack or stroke, or the perpetual motion machine of medications needed for hypertension. |
