Here's what I found out in a Google search: "Although the US Code carries penalties for failing to respond to the Census, no one has been prosecuted for this since 1960. And in 1960, two poor souls out of millions got fined $100 each.This is largely an empty threat made to bully people into responding. Millions ignore many Census questions and some refuse to answer any of them. Enforcing this $100 fine would be impossible." Apparently you are safe, but as daDouce Man has said, your not filling it out may reduct Federal payments to where you live. |
