Actually, a great many straight groups can and do march in the annual Heritage Of Pride March down Fifth Avenue each June. Among these are the VFW, the NYPD Band, the FDNY, the PFLAG (Parents And Friends of Lesbians And Gays), 1199, and the TWU (!). In addition, major corporations such as Delta Airlines, AVIS, Coca-Cola, and Bank Of America send large contingents to march in this, the largest LGBT parade in the world.

The Pride March has always been a political parade, held to raise public awareness of LGBT issues, celebrate our pride in our community, culture, and our notable public figures present (like me...LOL) and past, and commemorate the Stonewall Rebellion, which began the modern gay-rights movement in 1969.
