If his wife is Catholic, what does that have to do with him?
My father isn't Catholic either, but my mother is, and I was raised Catholic. My father thinks the Catholic Church is "silly" on many things.
Non Catholics are allowed to marry in the Catholic Church, so long as one of the parents are Catholic in good standing, and that they promise to raise the kids as Catholic.
