Given the size of the agency though, that $200 million deficit doesn't seem as bad compared to the $100+ million deficit that MUNI is facing up here (in an area 1/10 the size of LA County).The only other transit agency out there that has grown during the recession is SunTran in Tucson. Granted, they're rather small, but they haven't cut any service. In fact, they've added several new "Express" routes; added neighborhood circulator routes, and are in the process of building a streetcar. |
