When you price yourself out of a market, you end up with nothing. So here we have 200+ unemployed union members. Would it not be better for them to be 200+ employed non-union members?In this case, I doubt that any concession would have sufficed, unless it went so low that most employees would do better in other lines of work. Of course, keep in mind that there's plenty of room at the bottom. There are many places that you can pay even less money in wages than you'll have to in Yadkinville, NC. And that's just in keeping with economics. As someone who believes that free trade is good, I don't have a problem with that. But many people do. |
