Why should the Libs/Dems push an immigration bill now? That would hurt them more than the health care bill is hurting Obama's numbers. Solely in hopes of Rep infighting?

That, and motivating their base, especially the growing Hispanic demographic.

Even the Spanish media has been quiet about immigration. It's not the liberal buzzword of 2010. Lou Dobbs is off the air. Piolin por la manana has stopped organizing his LA rallies for immigrant rights.

Democrats have control of Congress and the Presidency. They set the agenda.

Personally, I can't see myself supporting the likely Democratic bill on immigration. But it's a good strategic move nonetheless.

You admit you're part of the "base". Gotcha.

Not really. Just stating my view.

I've voted for President three times. Once for a Republican, once for a Democrat, and once for a Libertarian. I did not vote for Barack Obama.
