This could be a first: LuchAAA admits error! but you constantly take the liberal side on issues like Sotomayor She was qualified for the job, given the standards, which I feel are set too low. As I indicated, I would not have selected her if I were President, but her education and experience make her qualified. Her genetics played an obvious role in her selection, but what else is new? Ronald Reagan nominated Sandra Day O'Connor because she has a vagina, George HW Bush nominated Clarence Thomas because he was black. Politics is politics. The pertinent question is whether or not a judicial nominee is qualified given her colleagues. I haven't liked most Supreme Court nominees going back a fairly long time, mostly because they weren't top rate intellects (with the exception of John Roberts and Stephen Breyer, probably all the way back to Abe Fortas), but with the exception of Clarence Thomas, they were qualified for the job. In my view, as I said at that time, John Roberts and Stephen Breyer are the most qualified people on that court. NYFD lawsuit this summer You must forget that for reasons I stated here at some length, I thought against Judge Garaufis' decision wrong. Reminder. |
