I was thinking more along the lines of crime, family, keeping the community safe, more "real" conservatism. Unlike the "faux issues." The old saying "not HERE you don't." Then again, in the last 20-some-odd years, the whole concept of "conservative" has kinda been turned on its head. Where I was going with it is that based on what's "real" you'd think there would be more republicans in the Black community since the "real" issues would be a natural. And even with respect to "social programs" that too used to be a republican value - you take care of your own, "charity begins at home," and even self-sufficiency like Malcolm used to teach. Second amendment issues like Huey and Bobby used to teach.

So it would appear then that today's republicans are suffering some self-inflicted wounds, no? :)
