No he's not; you just attacked the messenger instead of listening to the message.

Examples of knee-jerk:

Blasting Obama on Afghanistan when it turns out that the real reason is more local politics than anything (i.e., local mistrust of the USA).

Blasting Obama for not calling Fort Hood terrorism when the law specifically prevents it from being called such by him.

Jumping on Obama with claims of indoctrination vis a vis 9/11 before the information was released.
