If you read my post carefully, I am only talking about 2001 through 2008.The teams you refer to were great teams, no question, and they had no superstars. The best players were homegrown (except for Cone, Key, Clemens, et al). Money was not an issue with those teams. But around 2000, George started to poke his nose back into the scene and the money rained down in torrents. You're a Yankee fan, let me ask you this: of which championship team in the 1996 and later era are you the most proud? If it were me, I'd say the '98 team followed by the '96 team. |
