Depends on who you ask.If you're the Yankees, I guess it was an unsuccessful decade, yes. If you're anyone else, making it to two World Series, an ALCS and seven straight playoff appearances would be a dream come true. For example, in their 45 year history, the Mets have been to the playoffs a TOTAL of seven times ('69, '73, '86, '88, '99, '00 and '06). That means the Yankees have been to the playoffs as many times between 2001 and 2007 as many times as the Mets have since 1962. I would grab the Yankees' 2001-2009 decade with both hands, believe me. |
