I was just going to say the same thing.In the persuit of excellence, the Yankees had to spend.Hey, we spent tons of money but the Mets crapped out.I think LA and Boston have big payrolls too.

Still, I do beleive the small cities need some sort of way to compete.Maybe some rule that staes a rookie from that cities farm system must stay with that city 5 years after he breaks into the majors.I guess the players union would put the kibosh on that one.
