New Republic isn't what it once was. It was sold to CanWest (Canada) in March, and CanWest is now in bankruptcy as of last month. Controlling interest and editorial control of New Republic is currently in the hands of the Fraser Institute, a libertarian think tank. Check out "Fraser Institute" ... so this editorial is no surprise actually. :) |
