He led an honorable life - US Naval Academy, Graduate Degree from Stanford, 7 years of hell in the Hilton (Hoa Lo), President of the Naval War College. Maybe it's my shared military heritage but I have trouble with the caricature. The responsibility as SRO at Hoa Lo was immense, and the physical trauma and mental anguish and emotional scarring nobody should endure. On the other hand, I understand the point you were trying to make. |
