The left-leaning Newsday is about to learn a lesson that their left-leaning friends in politics seem to have trouble learning as well.

Doubling your price ("tax rate") and introducing new fees for the on-line version ("new taxes") is not going to double their revenue. They will be lucky to have the same revenue one year from now that they have today. And their customers ("citizens") will be quite unhappy with them.

I stopped buying Newsday years ago, except for an occasional copy when I was getting on a train and had nothing to read. I can't imagine plunking down $1 for a copy of something that is a skeleton of it's former self.
