But now, virtually all of the local news and ads are centered around Nassau and Suffolk- even in the 'City Edition' found at newstands in the five boroughs.

That's because it's a Nassau and Suffolk "LI" paper. Just like the NY Post and the Daily News are "city" papers, even though they have LI editions.

During the eighties and nineties before it was possible to vent on the Internet, I actually had a couple printed. Not over the past decade, though.

That's because you probably are thinking of when there was a "New York Newsday", which doesn't exist anymore, and hasn't in over 10 years or so.

Ending a thirty-two and a half year habit won't be easy. But my hand has been forced.

I don't think they care....their market is Nassau and Suffolk...they gave up on the city at least 10 years ago.

This all said, I agree, it's a bit ridiculous to go from 50 cents to $1. What is the Post and Daily News? Are they still 50 cents?
