Siggy has some interesting remarks:The Pittsburg gunman left a web page. He was George Sodini, a 48-year-old computer programmer. His last girlfriend was around twenty years ago. After twenty years of rejection by women, he finally had the courage to take his revenge by shooting at members of the sex who rejected him and made him feel like a loser. I also blame computer programming; it’s a soul-deadening job. Interestingly, he wasn’t unemployed, and in fact, he recently received a promotion at work. He had a net worth of $250K, which is not a terribly surprising figure. But unfortunately, Sodini didn’t think it was worth living to face another thirty years of loneliness. Roissy says that if someone had taught him “game,” this unfortunate outcome would have been averted. My LIRR/NYCT blog |
