Chris Dodd, I will give you, since he is in the Senate.Contrary to popular belief, Barney Frank had at most a bit role, and this is why: 1. No one was calling for any regulation of the derivatives market, which would have stopped it. 2. Credit rating agencies were asleep at the wheel, blindly slapping AAA without paying attention to what was in these derivatives. 3. The minority party NEVER calls the shots in the House of Representatives. 4. If the minority party in the Senate filibusters, and the issue is of utmost importance, heavy-handed techniques such as a government shutdown should never be ruled out. |
