"Before you start feeling bad that the Yankees pay all of this tax, know that they used a little luxury tax loophole to help with their new stadium. The Yankees were able to avoid paying some of the luxury tax because they got to write off the money that they paid to build the new ballpark. Not only did NYC tax money pay for most of the stadium the Yankees got to pay less luxury tax because they spent money on a new stadium."That was one of the good reasons for building the new park, no money to the 'deadbeat owners'. But they really should pay back the city what they owe us. |
