Wikipedia cites his biography, which admittedly isn't much better since we can't confirm it.It's easy enough to go to a library or bookstore. The quote doesn't seem particularly out of line from a Scriptural point of view. The Old Testament extensively regulates slavery and specifies harsh penalties for mistreatment of servants. I'm sure he wasn't referring to the American slave trade. |
