It wouldn't really matter---unless the justice being replaced is Antonin Scalia.Republicans lost any chance to stop her confirmation when they advanced Sam Alito, which essentially threw out the rule that one member of the party out of power had to vote to support the nomination (Alito did not get ANY Democratic support, which meant that Republicans changed the rules mid-game to advance him). |
