I'm not a mint fan, but confirmed that ALL of the local franchises here in NEW YORK have it ... your link says nothing about your claim that it's political correctness ... with the sales volumes involved in the NY Metro area, the cost of handling it probably isn't justified by the demand. And I'm sure some of the other folks here who work in "fast food" can confirm what I'm saying. Did you know that a single slice of cheese is a profit-killer? Or ONE bag of extra ketchup filched from the trays in the "self-serve" area?Most of the NY Metro area McD's are owned by a small handful of franchisees ... they don't want the extra expense if the volume of sales ain't there, and apparently shakes in general ain't selling worth the effort.
