At the risk of being overly technical, the A320, depending on weight, airspeed, environmental conditions, configuration, and flightpath, is actually closer to twice that, around 15.Maybe I've just remembered wrong. It's been years since I've dealt with aerodynamics. If the A320 can have a ratio as high as 15, probably all commercial airplanes can have a roughly comparable ratio. 1/14 = 7% and 1/7 = 14%, so I may have confused the fraction and the percentage. |
