Good point."A supersonic fighter might be around 3." Depends which one. The F-104's lift/drag ratio might be different than the F-14's which wings fully swept to 72 degrees, while the same F-14's ratio might change with the wing sweep reduced. Drag is reduced with the wings swept back but lift is increased with them swept forward. The F-18's profile is somewhat different still. |
