I don't know the stats on the individual plane but it probably has been up and down thousands of the times without incident. If a car goes off a bridge and crashes into the river, chances are they're dead. With a plane, if flown right, should survive a water landing without much damage. In this case it worked out great, congrats to the pilot. I wouldn't be surpised if this was the third trip for that plane today.
