And since the beginning of 2006, 120,000 Americans have died by motor vehicle. At least a third of those died absolutely through no fault of carelessness of their own.I know I've had at least one close call in a car. At combined speeds of 130 mph (i.e., 65 mph heading in opposite directions), the car coming the other way suddenly spun out on a curve (he was probably actually going 80 - it wasn't such a bad curve) and missed the car I was in by a foot or two. But I've never had a close call in a plane. |
