Hahahaha, silly me, I fogot we were on topic! :)
I was there back in February, and they had just reopened the St Charles line back the end of St Charles, before it turns onto Claiborne. The only stretch that was still closed as of then was the Claiborne Ave stretch of the St Charles line. It had just reopened from Lee Circle when I rode it in February.
So, most of the system was up and running again...except they were only using the historic 1920's green Perley-Thomas streetcar units. The red "repro" units are what are supposed to be running on the Riverfront and Canal St routes. The photos I posted of the red units were from before the hurricane. To gain some perspective, the way the lines have been running, it is about as odd to see one of the green historic units on the Canal St line, as it would be to see let's say an R68 on the Queens Blvd line. Even odder on the Riverfont line.
Thankfully though, the historic 1920's units were on higer ground and spared when the flood rolled in. While it was tragic that the BRAND NEW Canal St red repro units and the Riverfront units were heavily damaged and needed to be rebuilt, as they did get under water, if it had to happen, thankfully the historic units were the ones spared, as the repro units are replacable.

I don't know when the Claiborne Ave stretch of the St Charles line has reopened yet, or if not, when they are planning that.
