May of 2007 I was all set to go hike down and go camping in the Grand Canyon with some friends. We had reserved a campsite back in July of 2006 (you have to make your resrvations a year in advance), planned our itinerary, gotten our permit, booked our flights, etc. In February of 2007 I went to the doctor to let him check on some sciatica that was bothering me and it turned out to be a benign spinal tumor that had to be removed. So that was that for the Canyon. My wife and I will try to get there next April, sans backpacks.

I never thought of using a chainsaw as a must-do in my life. The opportunity simply never presented itself. I do like to go camping, although I haven't gone since the surgery, and usually have a bow saw an an axe for cutting firewood. Maybe I'll buy a gas-powered saw for the next trip. It'll be easier on my surgically-repaired back.

As far as Bingo goes, it's something that my wife said she used to do with her mother & aunt when she was a kid. She always talks about how much money her mother used to win (I guess she was very lucky), and how much fun it was. One day I'll humor her and suggest we should go.
