I don't see what the big deal would be about paying a few bucks.My problem is with the fact that you get less. Prior to 9/11 you were able to climb to the top of the statue whereas that access is no longer permitted yet access to the island still costs the same. It is a rip-off as long as people are not allowed to climb to the top. I can see and photograph the statue from the FREE Staten Island Ferry. Ever since the access to the crown has been restricted the number of visitors to that ripoff have been cut almost in half - obviously many people feel about it the same way I do. |
