The Vatican, just like many other churches, wants the law in countries where it has adherents to reflect its moral viewsNo; it's somewhat beyond that for them. They can do better in Italy because referenda there require a majority of voters (whether they vote or not) to support a change, so the apathetic automatically become Church supporters That's a very poor assessment of what's going on in Italy nowadays. Romano Prodi's out of power directly because of the Vatican. |
