Here's Truman, and of course the only staple is those wooden chairs:




President Taft was the first president to use the Oval office, which he made a full oval out of the secretaries round office in 1909.

Here's a good site with some more photos of all the others too, as well as close ups of the rugs, and a history of the oval office. Before Taft, it appears the presidents used the Lincoln Bedroom. The photos are confusing, depending on when they were taken, as on this site, it shows George Bush Sr working at his desk on Clinton's blue rug. I guess Obama will use George Bush's rug for a few months also. That's what we had that confusing photo of Ronald Reagan on Carter's rug.
