I've been to a mass where information was passed out regarding a pending abortion proposition. They made sure that everyone knew the church's stance even though they didn't discuss it at all.The Catholic Church is very pro-immigrant rights, and the Bishop here frequently has editorials in the newspaper and clashes with the Republican Governor. OTOH, the priest at my father's church - a wonderful man whom I respect very much - actually said in a sermon that it is a sin to vote for a pro-choice candidate. |
