I agree with many of McCain's points. I believe nuclear power could provide a useful bulk power source without a carbon impact. I find it objectionable, but offshore drilling could provide a low cost privately financed alternative for the near term. However, that path can only be taken if we also look to develop long term alternatives.

McCain may represent these ideas, but he comes with a ridiculous amount of baggage from Dubya's presidency. We cannot afford another four years of a president who waves away deficit spending for international entanglements with one hand while invoking spending cuts to justify slashing domestic services. Fundamentally our foreign policy is our energy policy, and our energy policy is our transportation policy. Only one candidate even momentarily touched on that issue tonight, and that's the candidate I will gladly support.
