And, I've removed the word, "Reef" for the same reason. This entire discussion has become rediculous but certainly has ot risen to the level where it needs to be reefed.Referring to a person as a gorilla????? Come on now, really! Whoopie Goldberg is a talanted lady - not glamorous by hollywood standards but hardly "gorilla ugly". If you view it as a racial then I suppose it's racial to you but there are others who view it in a totally different way. I had a guy who worked for me who everyone referred to as the Silverback and John was white-Italian. You can make whatever you want out of any comment. You can find symbolic hate anywhere if you look for it. Tonight, I'll be having dinner with my friend, Teri and her husband. I know at some point she'll break out the Nehi Grape soda even though I don't think she even likes that stuff. I also doubt that we'll be having fried chicken and collard greens either. Point is, you can take this shit for what it is and remain civil - even friendly or you can take virtually any comment and destroy this community or your own. You guys seem to want a racial war soooooo don't let me stop you. I have better things to do. By the way, to the ass holes, Journal Square and River Line, the term "Lily-white" is just as racially offensive to some - possibly more so than referring to one particular woman of color as a gorilla. So clean up your own houses, too. |
