In 2007, the government gets 45% over $2million.In 2009 the exception rises to $3.5m per person. That's $7m per couple. If someone inherits $2,400,000 in 2007, they paid $180,000 to the IRS. I thought Freedom wasn't free. Keeping $2,220,000 out of $2.4m sounds like a good deal to me. |
