You wouldn't say that if you were a Russian officer in the 30's. Stalin had almost all his officers, especially the higher ones such as generals shot in the 30's for no reason at all other than his conspiracy paranoia.
Stalin was also the only person in the whole world that was surprised by Barbarosa on 6-22-41.
