Now you are just nitpicking.No, I'm not. This is a major effect. In most major cities in the northern hemisphere the slums are on the east side of the city (think Lower East Side, East London). Why? Because the wind from the west blew the coal smoke that way. So in fact allowing trucks on the FDR (which I agree is a bad idea because the lanes are too narrow) truly would improve air quality in East Harlem. |
