The yellowcrap's not really useful for anything as it is now so what Cameco's going to do is a bit of work to turn it into mixed oxide fuel pellets for Ontario Hydro for electricity generation.Ontario Hydro's been running mixed oxide fuel pellets through the nuclear plants to generate electricity since the mid 1990s to dispose of scrap Russian nuclear material, so this isn't unprecedented but it doesn't go on elsewhere because Hydro's nuclear reactors were designed with fuel flexibility in mind as part of the design specifications. I'm not opposed to cheap electricity. -Robert King |
