COMPLETELY honors the "do not record" flag on a video signal.They had to in order to keep the Macrovision license and to use CableCards. Recording off a box (like the older style TiVo) makes it difficult to record HD. And I would also enjoy the ability of watching stuff on an iPhone, which the TiVo does as well. Your setup might work for somebody who has 15 TB of hard disks and associated computer equipment but it doesn't work for someone who needs a simple easy to use consumer electronic device. I have little use for permanent archiving, I can just buy the BD or DVD. |
