I already said that Byrd can rot for all I care, but I don't know as much about him as I do Helms. I lived in NC when Helms was at his most powerful so I know a lot about him. On one hand Byrd was in the KKK decades before I was even born. On the other hand Jesse Helms was on the floor of the US Senate calling Martin Luther King Jr. a communist and womanizer on the floor of the Senate in opposition to a national holiday when I was in high school. |
