State meddling in the lives of its people "for their own good".State thinking they know what's best for the people without their input. A single political party holding sway over an entire to the point that the other party just doesn't compete. Key political races having no opposition. The removal of rights. Mass imprisonment, often for infractions that do not warrent imprisonment. A head of state who does what is good for THEM, not their country, and entered office by dubious means. A small powerful class alongside a large (and increasing) powerless majority. All of this is in America today, and all of this sounds a lot like communism. Sadly, the best part (mistreatment of criminals) isn't in play, thank you 8th Amendment for not letting us wail on rapists. |
